Comments:I've just started setting up an old Amiga 1200 and will be trying to get a BBS up and running. Used to run a very quiet little board called The Octavo, back in the day.

Will hook up a USR modem and see if I get any calls ;)

Comments:Ha... I totally forgot about posting here ages ago too :)

Question... was 4.12 the last ever version of /X? Was 4.20 a rebadged fake? My memory is real hazy on this point.

Also, as all my Amiga stuff disappeared some years ago, if you have a copy of DayDream BBS, I'd love to hear from you!

I've wondered about the 4.20 thing for years as well, convinced myself that the only real copies floating about were 4.9 and 4.12. Who knows though. And by the way, the code you had to enter to validate you're a human leaving a guestbook message was 1337 hehe. Leet.

Comments:Oh wow takes me back, i used to call a few of these Bbs`s (Deathrow / Oasis / Cal etc!) back in the day, in the end i got totally hooked and ended up running -=(Burger-Bar)=- Anthrox Ehq - used to run on 4 nodes for quite some time! i think i was one of the few bbs`s to run from 9600 usrobotics (massive box modem!) right up to the day i closed the bbs with a usrobotics courier I-modem that could handle modem or Isdn super speeds! - a big hi to any of my old freinds/callers!

Comments:I used to run Paradise Lost BSS, Started with Maxs the move to /X. Fantastic days till the Internet killed it all off. My nick back then was Azaxs.

Just got back to the amiga in the middle of 2 rebuild's std 1200 and 1200 tower.

Also trying to get my board back up and running. Managed to get /X 4.20 last night.

After a few chats with some old sysops and some that still run. they have 4.20 from lightspeed registered so it would seem that 4.20 is a valid build and the last avalible.

Comments:I'm the former sysop of Fortress BBS, on /X run board end of the 80's early 90's. Also fun to find my old BBS phonenumbers, etc in the Doors Pack download. Also some of the doors made by the great Franky are in there :-) Must tell him on facebook right away.

Comments:I spent many years on the boards, including Acid Slam which you have the neat H20 ascii for. Amiexpress was easily the best software and I ran a BBS for a few months before my parents booted me off for hogging the family phone line.. Those were the days :-)
